WPHOC SENDS EMAIL TO WPPA- Commissioner Al Moroni: Parking Enforcement or Lack of enforcement ** at the Lot on Central and Tarrytown Road

To All: WPHOC sent this email out to WPPA Commissioner Al Moroni Sunday afternoon. We actually hope I get a response from Mr. Moroni or the Mayor’s Office.

This email is self-explanatory and I believe the Mayor’s office needs to respond to this because we have observed the same vehicles parked in the same spots all weekend and evenings during this week and over the past 4 weeks as well.

I just drove thru there about 4:00PM and counted at least 25 cars with flashing RED expired meters in this 24/7 WPPA lot so I have to ask why. As I came back around the corner I observed an officer on traffic duty sitting on Robertson adjacent to the entrance to this lot. I inquired of the officer, as to who is responsible for the parking enforcement nights and weekends in this particular lot and he advised it was supposed to be the WPPA.

If it turns out that enforcement in this lot is lax, weak or non-existent on weekends or late nights then the City is losing huge amounts of revenue. I feel this issue should be explained and if my observations are correct then an immediate corrective action plan should be enacted to secure this vital revenue for the WP tax payers.

I hope someone from the administration will actual respond to this inquiry and concern and raise the bar for the new Mayor, Mr. Roach. I should point out that many of the WPHOC reports and observations directed to White Plains officials over the last 3-4 years have resulted in quite a lot of revenue in fines for WP Building, DPW and Traffic. We have also provided much needed info to WPPS and I hope this new City administration will take WPHOC seriously.

Outside of WPHOC and the BHA I see very little in the way of proactive information being passed to WP officials by all other Associations. Many of these other associations, take a we don’t want to get involved attitude and this really doesn’t accomplish much in the way of generating fines and revenue. I can speak for WPHOC and make it clear that we are not afraid to report violations as they occur.

I would hope that the WP City administration appreciates these independent revenue generating efforts.

It is a WPHOC mantra that taxes don’t discriminate and everyone has to play by the same set of rules.

Regards,

WPHOC Management
