WPHOC is dis-appointed in our Council**John Baileys, WPCNR.COM Headline** Sat. 04/16/11*** COUNCIL DITHERS ON DPW BUDGET DOES NOT ASK DPW TO CUT.

To: White Plains Council:

Can you advise why all of you wouldn't be asking for cuts in DPW's budget by a minimum of 10%. The WP DPW has one of the largest and most over bloated payrolls and equipment budgets of all city departments.

We all have seen the DPW crews filling pot holes, sometimes 4-5 workers in a bunch, like bananas. Yes, there they are proud union workers standing around the hole with a supervisor.

Did you ever notice these workers stand around, along with 2 or 3pcs of rolling stock/equipment, maybe 1 supervisor all filling 2" deep pot holes measuring about 1ft x 1ft in some cases. At times I have observed them working on these crews with so many workers and such small holes that they can't use more than one shovel at a time??

With regards to sanitation, I will once again put out the option of outsourcing this function. We can no longer afford this high paid teamster labor, these functions must be outsourced in order to reduce our taxpayer payroll, benefit and pension benefits obligations immediately.

Surely, Commissioner Nicoletti can trim 10% of the fat in his existing budget and freeze all rolling stock purchases for the next 12 months? Why should Commissioner Nicolletti need all this money?

We need non tax payer funded revenue increases and we need some real serious and deep cuts at every level of government. If they can't cut the fat then they must cut payroll in every department throughout City government because it's time to ****** CUT! CUT!CUT!
